WALLPAPER / A WORKED EXAMPLE

Buy the rolls
the wall actually needs.

One wall: 4 m wide × 2.7 m high. Roll: 0.53 m × 10 m. Plain match, a 10% waste buffer and the calculator’s 10 cm trim allowance.

4 ÷ 0.53 → 8 full-width strips
8 × 1.10 → 9 strips with waste
2.7 + 0.10 → 2.8 m cut length
10 ÷ 2.8 → 3 strips per roll9 ÷ 3 = 3 rolls

Pattern repeat, roll size and wall height can change the result. Openings do not reduce the roll count because rolls are cut into full-height strips.

Illustrative measurements, calculated using the released wallpaper tool’s strip and waste rules. Confirm site measurements before ordering.

The problem

Curtain, wallpaper and upholstery quantities worked out by hand — wrong, slowly, twice.

The outcome

Fabric, pleats, roll counts, pattern repeats and site measures, quoted properly while the customer watches.

  • Curtain
  • Wallpaper
  • Upholstery
  • Site measurement
